Lewis "Buddy" Nordan is the author of seven books of fiction including Lightning Song (1997), Sugar Among the Freaks, (1996) and The Sharpshooter Blues (1995). His novel Wolf Whistle was awarded the Southern Book Award, and Notable Book Award from the American Library Association. Music of the Swamp (1991) received best fiction awards from the Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters, and Notable Fiction Award from the American Library Association. His stories have appeared in many journals, including Harper's and Redbook. His latest book is Boy with a Loaded Gun (A Memoir).
