Senior Communications Analyst, Government Accountability Office
My training in composition at Pitt has been extremely valuable to me in my current position. At Pitt I worked with composition students in both my teaching and research, and the writers I work with now are very similar, only they've left college and entered the professional world. It's great fun to help them continue to grow as writers. I particularly appreciate the way I was taught at Pitt to think about the role of reading in the writing process because it helps me to understand the connections between writing and reading in a professional setting.
PhD Year: 2010
Specialization: I help writers with varying levels of expertise throughout the process of writing investigative reports for a large federal agency--from conception, to drafting, to editing.
