Department of English

al Primo Journalism Center

The Journalism Lab (JLAB) was started through a seed-grant from Apple Computer and was completed through the generosity of Al Primo, a Pitt alumnus and pioneer of the Eyewitness News concept. Primo's timely gift to his alma mater enabled the English department to create an electronic classroom with the intention of simulating the working environment of a modern newspaper.

The journalism lab is equipped with:

23 Pentium-III computers
Instructional LCD projector
Hewlett-Packard 5370 Cxi scanner
Apple LaserWriter 16/600 printer
