Darby Lacey

Darby (she/her) is a PhD candidate in English at the University of Connecticut. Having recently relocated to Pittsburgh with her wife and four (!!) dogs, she looks forward to joining the dynamic English department at Pitt. Her dissertation examines how those who have been subject to medical violence use writing to negotiate the violences and possibilities of medical treatments while reimagining alternative care structures. As an instructor, Darby values active and accessible pedagogy where students develop their own voices in order to make change in their communities.
