Lisa M. Hase-Jackson

Poet Lisa M. Hase-Jackson is the author of Insomnia in Another Town (Clemson University Press), selected by Clare Bateman as the winner of the 2023 Converse Alumna Book Prize, and Flint & Fire (The Word Works), selected by Jericho Brown as the winner of the 2019 Hilary Tham Capital Collection Series. She holds an MFA in poetry from Converse University and a MA in English from Kansas State University. Her award-winning poetry has appeared in such journals as Chiron Review, Cimarron Review, and South Carolina Review. In addition to acting as editor for such journals as South 85 Review, Hase-Jackson has facilitated writing and artistic workshops in academic and community settings. Born in Portland, Oregon and raised primarily in the Midwest, Lisa is a traveler at heart and has spent her adult years living and writing in such places as Anyang, South Korea, Albuquerque, New Mexico and Charleston, South Carolina. Her current perch is Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she writes and teaches creative writing at the University of Pittsburgh as a Visiting Professor.
